Mount Hood Wilderness, Oregon, USA
I drove to Mount Hood intending to photograph the sunrise on the peak, but the weather was perfectly clear. It certainly made a pretty scene but not much to work with for a good photograph. However, as luck would have it, the clear weather on Mount Hood was due to an inversion that filled the valleys with clouds. So, I turned around and pointed my camera south, adjust my settings and you can see the result. Nikon D800, 24-70mm, F22, 1/40 sec, ISO 100, 1:3 image crop.
